Arnold Tarmac were instructed to carry out the excavation of the entrance area and re-construct. The project was scheduled to take 1 week, which involved laying new Kerbs, Type 1 Ministry of Transport Approved sub base stone, 75mm of Binder Course Tarmac and 50mm of S.M.A Surface Course Tarmac.

Due to the size and shape of the entrance, we recommended using a S.M.A (Stone Mastic Asphalt) Tarmac, this has much more strength than ordinary D.B.M (Dense Bitumen Macadam.) This decision resulted in no scuffing of the surface in hot weather and added the longevity of the surface.
